That’s exactly what you get when you opt for orthodontic treatment with ClearCorrect from Comal Dental in New Braunfels, TX. Read on to learn more about this discreet and comfortable solution for straight teeth.

How ClearCorrect Works

A ClearCorrect clear aligner held by a person.

These custom-designed clear braces don’t involve the use of metal brackets and wires. Instead, ClearCorrect clear plastic aligners fit snugly over your teeth, working to correct bite problems, close gaps, and change the position of crooked teeth. Because the aligners are made from smooth plastic, they don’t irritate your mouth the way metal can. It’s this clear plastic that also makes ClearCorrect such an attractive option; most people will never even know you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment!

Indications for ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect can be used to resolve a variety of orthodontic concerns. These indications can be read about in more detail below.

Crowded Teeth

If you have teeth that are too close to each other, this can make them much more difficult to keep clean. This only puts you at higher risk of dental disease, including gum disease and tooth decay. With ClearCorrect, we can provide more space for your teeth so they are aligned more evenly.

Spaces Between Teeth

If you wish you didn’t have gaps in between your teeth, ClearCorrect can work to decrease this space. On top of that, we can reduce the likelihood of food particles collecting in between your teeth, putting you at higher risk of chronic bad breath and cavities.

Bite Alignment

If problems exist within your overall bite, the jaw joints can experience disproportionate amounts of pressure. This only puts you at higher risk of jaw clenching and teeth grinding, which are two habits that can wear down enamel. Common types of malocclusions that ClearCorrect can address include overbite, underbite, and crossbite.

Benefits of ClearCorrect

We offer ClearCorrect at Comal Dental because of these unique advantages:

  • Possibly the biggest benefit, ClearCorrect allows patients to straighten their teeth without the appearance of metal brackets and wires.
  • Treatment time is between 10 and 18 months on average, which is shorter than traditional orthodontics.
  • Your aligners are removeable, which means there are no hassles with cleaning, and you can eat all of your favorite foods.
  • Made of smooth plastic, you won’t have to worry about brackets and wires cutting the inside of your mouth.

Cost of ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect is a highly personalized treatment, which means the cost of your series of clear aligners will likely differ from another patient’s. For example, the severity of your orthodontic concerns, the amount of time you actually dedicate to wearing them, and your age can all influence your final price tag. With that said, the most effective way of finding out what your treatment costs will be is to meet with Dr. Earnest. During your consultation, he’ll be better able to confirm your treatment costs ahead of time.

What is the ClearCorrect Process?

Using a 3D rendering of your bite created with an impression, the ClearCorrect lab can create your entire treatment plan. You’ll get to review the results before beginning treatment, which means you can rest assured that you will be receiving the smile that you’ve always wanted! Once you’re pleased with the treatment plan, your aligners are created, and you’ll simply change them every few weeks until the process is complete. It’s important that you also wear your aligning trays for at least 20 hours a day to ensure the progression of your alignment.

How Should I Care for My ClearCorrect Aligners?

Caring for your ClearCorrect aligners will make sure that your treatment stays on track and your smile looks good during the process. Proper care is also vital in the effort to prevent problems like tooth decay, gum inflammation, and more. Use these tips for the safety and success of your treatment:

  • Remove your aligners when eating and be sure to brush your teeth before putting them back in.
  • Brush your aligners at least once a day with a soft bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste.
  • Never use warm water when cleaning your aligners because it could warp the plastic.
  • When cleaning your aligners, put a towel down to prevent damage if you drop them.
